Check out our FAQs to (hopefully) get answers to your burning questions!
*Enrollment for FCBD 2025 will open on December 1, 2024.* The link to the enrollment form will be available on this page beginning on Monday, December 2. Mark your calendars! |
How to Enroll:
In order to participate in the FCBD Library Program, a library or school must fill out the enrollment application. The application will become available on this webpage on December 1, 2024.
Please note that the application to the Library Partner Program does not guarantee participation. Spots are limited and, due to overwhelming demand, will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Participants will be contacted by February 7, 2025 regarding their status in the program. Please check Spam/Junk folders for our communication, as we've received reports of our emails landing in Junk Folders.
Due to the number of requests from libraries, and with the limited number of comics available, we urge you to work with a local comic shop near you if possible. To find a shop, use our Comic Shop Locator service. Comic shops that display the “School/Library Partner” badge are great stores to contact.
Book Selection:
- You will be provided 50 single issue comic books from among this year's selection of titles. If you request additional comic books beyond the guaranteed 50 books, you may receive backstock books and titles from previous years in order to meet your request.
- In your enrollment form, please indicate which age ratings you are comfortable receiving. We provide All Ages (appropriate for all readers including children) and Teen (apprpriate for readers 13 and up). You may request just one age rating or a mix of both. We do not provide Mature content (i.e. for readers 18 and up) to libraries and schools.
The below guidelines may answer most questions about what the program includes. However, if you have any questions that are not covered here or would like more information on the program, please email educators@freecomicbookday.com.
2025 Program Guidelines
Please Read Carefully:
- When completing the enrollment form, please ensure we have the correct shipping address. Packages are sent via UPS, therefore we cannot ship to a P.O. Box. A physical street address must be provided.
- Due to shipping and customs logistics, we cannot accept enrollment from locations outside of the continental U.S.
- Your shipment of comic books will arrive separately from your promotional package. We will provide email updates on approximately when to expect each package.
As a partner in this program, you will:
Receive 50 books per location to distribute on FCBD. You may request additional books, and we will do our best to accomodate as many additional requests as possible, but we cannot guarantee more than 50 comic books to each accepted location. This will be 50 individual comic books, not 50 copies of each title. For example, if you need 100 comic books to support your event, you will need to request an additional 50 books. Please note, if you are requesting for multiple locations with different shipping addresses, please fill out the form for EACH location.
Cross promote with the local comic book stores in your area. You can find a comic book shop near you by using the Comic Shop Locator Service.
Receive a FCBD Promotional Package. Specific contents of the promotional package are still being determined, but packages generally included items such as posters, bookmarks, lanyards, pencils, etc.
Adhere to FCBD Comic Release Date. No comics are allowed to be distributed before Free Comic Book Day on May 3, 2025. Comics may be distributed on or after May 3, 2025.
FCBD Library Partner Program FAQs
Q: How many books do I get as part of this program?
A: You will receivie 50 single issue comics books, reflecting a mix and range of titles. You will not receive 50 books of the same title.
Q: What if I need more than 50 books for my library?
A: There is space in the enrollment form to request additional comics beyound the 50 you will already recevie. We make every effort to fulfill these additional requests, but cannot guarantee any quantity beyond 50. If you we are able to fulfill your additional request, it is likely that you will receive backstock titles from previous FCBD events. This is done to ensure that every library participating in the program this year receives books from this year's selection, as we have limited stock of the current year's selection of titles.
Q: Does this program accommodate libraries located outside the U.S.?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate any libraries located outside the continental U.S. due to issues with customs.
Q: When will I hear if I am accepted into the Program?
A: Acceptance notifications will be sent out via e-mail to address you provided in the enrollment form by the first Friday in February. If the first Friday in Feburary passes and you still have not received notification, please check your spam folder first. The email software we usually occassionally gets flagged by spam folders. If you don't have any communication from us in your spam folder, please reach out and we will update you on your status.
Q: What cost is associated with this program?
A: None! This program is completely free to participating libraries. We will provide the books free of charge and cover shipping costs.
Q: Are the books you're providing appropriate for children?
A: We offer two different age ratings, All Ages and Teen, which you can select at the time of application. All Ages books are appropriate for all readers, including children. In fact, young children are the target audience of All Ages rated titles. Some examples of previous All Ages titles include My Little Pony, Dog Man and Max Meow, InvestiGators, Pokemon, and Disney's Encanto... just to name a few! Teen books are appropriate for readers 13 and up. Some examples of previous Teen titles include the Avengers, TMNT, Transformers, Riverdale, and One Piece. We do not provide any Mature materials to libraries (i.e. content that is only appropriate for readers 18 and up).
Q: Can I pick which age ratings I will recieve?
A: Absolutely! There is a section in the enrollment form to select which age ratings you are comfortable receiving. You can elect to recevie only All Ages, only Teen, or a mix of both.
