How was your Halloween ComicFest event? It was better than expected. It is definitely improving each year.
What has been your best promotion or event? Our ladies' night promotion went very well. We had local talent and a silent auction that provided a fund raising opportunity for breast cancer awareness and research.
What recent changes have you made in the store? We decided to move our cash wrap from the center of the store to the side. It was hard to see the entire store from the center. We also change our displays depending on the season.
What steps have you taken to expand your customer base or to reach out to individuals unfamiliar with your store or comics in general? We do a cross-promotion with the library, which reaches a new audience.
What are your plans for the near future? We are in the process of upgrading our Moby POS, which will now include two registers.
How did you choose your store name? I liked the words "fantasy" and "emporium" but they seemed too long separately, so I combined them into one shorter word.
What superpower would you most like to have? I’d like to divide myself in two. I could get much more done that way.
The new comics section gets its own nook. | All-ages titles are called out in this portion of the store. |
The shop utilizes some very effective end-cap displays. | Customers can easily search for their favorite Magic The Gathering cards with the provided computer terminal. |
And there's plenty of space to play Magic and many other games too! | Partners in crime (from left to right) Meescha Dare and Paula Currey. |
