Golden Age Collectables, Ltd. (Seattle,
WA)
Tony Morigi reports:
"Free Comic Book Day was a blast for us!
The customers seemed to enjoy it as well. What was supposed to be one
day was spread out over three days.
"We started out with a bang at Gameworks
on Friday night. If you're not familiar with it, Gameworks is a HUGE
video game complex designed and owned by Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks
Entertainment. Anyway, we set up shop there on Friday night and gave out
hundreds and hundreds of comic books, HeroClix, and other goodies. As
you can see in the pictures, there were so many people that at times you
couldn't even see our table. Everyone was told to come to our store down
the street on Saturday for even MORE free comics.
"Saturday was crazy! Not only is the 4th
of July weekend always a busy one for us, you add FCBD and it gets nuts!
With our cross promotion with Gameworks we handed out 1000's of
Gameworks game cards with a mystery amount of gameplay on it. The value
was a minimum of $3 of free gameplay, but random cards had $5, $10, $20
and even $150! Since we are located inside a tourist magnet called the
Pike Place Market, we had tons of customers that had never heard of FCBD.
They were tickled pink to get free comics and game cards, especially the
kids.
"On Sunday, with the leftover giveaways,
we just did a repeat of Saturday. Free stuff for all!" |
